Old retro video games (You can buy a lot of classics on eBay ect for like $20 or less).
Alcohol (this is an awesome gift for me, a bottle lasts me months and I like having a selection).
If you want to do the surprise thing, you can't just ask what they want and then buy something similar.Įverybody is different, but my list featured things like If you're going for the easy gift, get them something they say they want, or money. I don't care if others don't put the same effort in to my gifts, but I wish people would realize you can't just buy any random shit to 'surprise' them. I've yet to give a gift that was unappreciated. I put aside money all year for birthdays and Christmas, and spend months investigating stuff that they are interested in, and am something of an expert in wheedling info out of people without them realizing why i'm asking. They said that they didn't want to just buy something that I had pointed out cause it felt like they put no thought into it (which they didn't do anyway or they wouldn't have had to ask what I wanted in the first place). Then for my birthday, they didn't get me any of it and bought random crap that I neither needed nor wanted. For the stuff that cost money, there was cheap ($15), to expensive 2-person ideas (like $50-60). The list had stuff they could get either online, in local shops, or even stuff they could do themselves. I gave a bunch of my family members a massive list of stuff that I wanted because they said I was too hard to buy for (which is BS, I always have stuff I want that's not hard to buy). >!insert spoiler here!< Other subreddits you might like: some Mod posts Serious posts Megathread Breaking news Unfilter Please use spoiler tags to hide spoilers.
